'Ishaqzaade' Movie Review - Buzz In Town

'Ishaqzaade' Movie Review - Buzz In Town

Performance wise, Parineeti Chopra has once again hit the bull’s eye playing Zoya in her signature style. She mixes in the gutso and glory required to portray a girl who can sell her jhumkaas to buy a katta and call her prospective hubby a namard. Arjun Kapoor, for whom Ishaqzaade was an acid test, has given a positive result. This boy who reminds you of Abhishek Bachchan has the acting ka keeda and is better than many first-timers. though his smile is infectious, but the screen is ruled by Parineeti most of the time. Their chemistry is quite refreshing and hot-blooded. The two are a house on fire- not just in the intimate scenes but otherwise as well. Gauhar Khan gets a chance to act as Chand Baby amid showing her belly dancing and item-number skills in the film. It’s quite surprising that none of the supporting cast leaves an impact.

One of the strong points of Ishaqzaade is the dialogue, which range from witty, crude to taalimaar. The conversation between Zoya and Parma before the interval is quite impressive. Musically the film strikes a chord with the audience as not even a single song looks out of place or stuffed. Hua Chokra Jawaan, Pareshan and the title track will stay with you. Habib Faisal has touched a sensitive topic, but we like the way he treated it sensibly without getting preachy.

Overlook the predictability part and Ishaqzaade can be your weekend watch! It might not be a zalzala of a film but offers quite some fireworks of entertainment. Watch it for Parineeti Chopra and her fiery chemistry with Arjun Kapoor!

Buzz Rating: 2.5 + .5 / 5 (.5 for Parineeti)
