Bollywood Trendsetters

From sensuous chiffon sarees, stunning Anarkalis, colourful patialas to chic & quirky clothing, fashion trends have evolved in Bollywood, one movie at a time.Style icons that made us go ooh la la, we’ve listed them out, read on.

Chic Chiffon
1970s, it is here the fashionable era of Bollywood saw the emerging trend of Chiffon sarees. In the film, ‘Silsila’, Rekha leaves us swooning over her with her soothing pastel coloured chiffon sarees. She manages to look graceful yet has an underlying touch of sensuality.

Stunning Salwar suits

Madhuri Dixit’s look in the film, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ became a fashion statement within no time.  Her ethnic salwar suits were traditionally inclined yet had a tinge of contemporary fashion. Stunning is an understatement here!

Suave  Sweater

Sophistication personified, Shah Rukh Khan stunned us yet again with his suave look in ‘Mohabbatein’. The comfortably wrapped polo neck sweater around his shoulder, made us fall in love with his effortless charm and style.

Bubblicious Babli Dress

Dress like your personality, got a new meaning altogether. Like the chirpy and bubbly shades of Rani’s character, her clothing too radiated & translated equal chirpiness. Believe us when we say it. Rani Mukerji’s look in ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ became an instant fashion rage. The bright coloured collared short shirts teamed with patialas, took the nation by a storm.

Dapper in Dhoom:2

His rugged jeans, sleeveless tees and shirts were not only ultra cool & stylish but also drool worthy in every sense. Nobody can carry that look with the ease Hrithik Roshan did in ‘Dhoom:2’.

Wearing simplicity with style

Anushka’s look in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ was effortless yet so charming. While she looked outrageously gorgeous in her vibrant yet simple salwar suits, she also carried the girl next door with utmost ease

  Scarves have a new meaning!

Salman Khan sported the scarf in his film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ & that become an instant fashion rage. While this look garnered great responses from the fashionistas, his fans went berserk with his uber cool avatar.

Knee-length dresses are back

The crux of Katrina’s look in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ was her simplicity. Her knee length dresses paired with an overcoat made for a chic ensemble. This look was simple yet stylish in every sense.

 Parineeti in dazzling Anarkalis

Hailing from the land of Nawabs, Parineeti's apparel too had to showcase the royalty & flamboyancy of Hyderabad! Donning bright coloured Anarkalis, she dazzled everyone with her style in ‘Daawat -e –Ishq’. She revived the Anarkali look by implicitly choosing royal hues & pairing it with stunning accessories.

Follow these fashion trends, pair it up with your stellar attitude and be rest assured that you won’t be charged by the Fashion Police. You may rather end up being the ‘Fashion Icon’ in your circle!
