Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge music launch with live online Raghu Dixit concert!

Yash Raj Films’ youth films studio Y-Films launched the music of it’s forthcoming release ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’ with a fantastic live performance by Raghu Dixit – one of India’s foremost desi rockstars who makes his Bollywood debut as music composer on the 28th of September. The gig that is being live streamed on the web also showcased the 4 new leads of the film Saqib Saleem, Saba Azad, Nishant Dahiya & Tara D’Souza.

Speaking on the launch, Nupur Asthana, the director of Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge added, “Music & the internet are 2 things our audience can’t live without. Our film reflects that, so clearly our music launch had to do the same. Raghu’s rocked not just the songs, but also the background score of the film. And after hearing the album, your feet will want to fraaandship with your ears!”

The ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’ music album with lyrics by Anvita Dutt features 8 songs including an explosive dance mix of one of the songs by Nikhil Chinapa, an insane rap by a set of Chennai rappers called Machas with Attitude and the fresh new voices of Shefali Alvares, Joi Baruah, Aditi Singh Sharma, Ash King, Suraj Jagan besides Vishal Dadlani & Shilpa Rao. The songs including the ear-worm “Uh-Oh”, the nutty “Dheaon Dheaon” and the Raghu Dixit Project classic “Har Saans Mein” are already climbing up the charts. MFK is a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of social networking, Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge tells the story of two losers, Vishal & Preity who fake their identities online to woo two really hot people, Malvika & Rahul. Little do they know that the person they totally hate in real life is the same person, they’ve fallen in love with online. Making ‘MFK’, this season’s most screwed up love story.

The film marks the debut of 4 very talented actors, Saqib Saleem, Saba Azad, Tara D’Souza & Nishant Dahiya besides director, Nupur Asthana who was previously known for hugely popular cult TV shows like Hip Hip Hurray & Mahi Way.

Also, for the first time, Yashji and A. R. Rahman have come together for the music of this project. It is indeed a special announcement of two industry stalwarts collaborating on a film.

Speaking on this, Yash Chopra was effusive in his praise for the talented music director. "I am starting work on the music of my as yet untitled film with the very talented Rahman. Apart from the great honour that he has consistently brought to our country, he is also someone that has created some outstanding and memorable music, something which is very important and dear to me and my films. I am looking forward to creating some wonderful music combining Rahman's contemporary world music sensibilities and my old world sensibilities of lilting melodies."

A. R. Rahman, while speaking about working with Yashji for the first time said, "I am very excited to work with Yashji and I am humbled by his faith in me for his film. I have seen that Yashji always portrays music as the inevitable essence of love and divinity in his movies. I hope as a team we can bring tremendous joy to all."

On the various conjectures about the cast for his movie, Yashji also said, "Everyone knows that when I make a movie, Shahrukh will be involved with it. He is like family to YRF and I have always regarded him as one of my own. There will be two leading ladies in my film. Once Adi gives me the final draft of the script, I will finalise the two girls who will be cast along with Shahrukh."

Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif team up for Yash Raj Films

After months of media speculation, it's official now!

Yash Raj Films is pleased to announce its next project. Directed by Kabir Khan and Produced by Aditya Chopra, the romantic-thriller "EK THA TIGER", stars Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.

Yash Chopra, speaking about the project, said it was a very happy moment for him. "Everyone knows my association with Salim saab, having worked together on Deewaar, Trishul and Kaala Patthar. It is a very happy moment for me and YRF to have his son Salman with us for the first time. Over the years, Salman has become a very matured and talented actor and both he and the beautiful Katrina have a tremendous connect with their audiences. Combined with Kabir's edgy directorial skills, we can all look forward to a thrilling film. I really loved the script which is based on a story written by Adi and I am sure that the whole team will do an excellent job on this project."

Salman Khan was also honoured to be working with YRF for the first time. He said, “In the past Adi and I have met a few times on various projects but somehow, when Kabir and he came to me with this particular story, we all just knew that this was the one. It is a very ambitious project and will be a challenge for all of us, but that's exactly what makes it such a big draw. Above all this, I’m honoured to be working with Yashji, who has worked so closely with my Dad in the past.”"

The story is by Aditya Chopra and the Screenplay & Dialogues have been written by Kabir Khan and Neelesh Misra. Aseem Mishra, who has worked with Kabir on New York, will be the DOP. The music will be scored by Pritam.

The film starts shooting early July and is slated for a mid-2012 release.
